From Buffalo, Wyoming to Yellowstone

We made several stops up this mountain to let the vehicles cool down! This was over 9,000 feet elevation! Yes, the weather was much cooler! The photos below are of us traveling up the mtn. and then the view as we go down the mtn.
We arrive at our campsite 18 miles from the entrance of Yellowstone. We had electricity and water at our site, but no internet service or phone service. We were set between two mountains. The campground was right on the Shoshone River. The temperature was usually low 80s, no humidity, lows in the 50s.

Entering Yellowstone National Park!! Yippee!! It was a warm, sunny day. We entered through the east entrance. We discovered that Yellowstone has 2.2 million acres and that from this entrance it takes about 2 hours to get to Yellowstone Lake and to Old Faithful! We were glad that Hunter asked us to go to a road that led to an overlook. This view of Yellowstone Lake was awesome! It was great to see the Grand Teton mountains beyond the lake and beyond the mountains in Yellowstone. The Grand Teton Mtns actually tower over these mountains. Most of the mountains in Yellowstone are anywhere from 8,000-10,000 feet high. You can see the remnants of the forest fire here.
Below are buffalo, elk and the hot springs at the Fishing Bridge area.
